This new category is about promoting the positive attributes of rescue dogs (either currently living in a shelter or at home with their new family). Photographs of a rescue dog (or dogs) can be pedigree or cross breed but photographs of rescue dogs must be positive in context. We want to see images of happy and healthy dogs. Your entry for this category must be of a rescue dog.

3. Does you file size meet our upload requirements?
2. Is the file a JPEG file?
4. Did you refresh your browser? (try closing down and then reopening your browser)
5. Is your search provider – Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc. updated?
6. Check your website browser – does it have JavaScript enabled?
7. Check your security settings on your browser - you may need to “add the Trusted Sites” in your internet security settings

We need clean e.g. unmarked, unnamed files for review and judging.  Any watermarked entry will automatically be disqualified.

Are black and white photos acceptable?
Yes, black and white photos are acceptable.

My photo has a date printed on the photo can I still enter?
No.  The entry photo needs to be a clean image – no watermark of any kind including dates given by camera settings.  Any images with watermarks including dates will be disqualified. Remember to check your camera settings BEFORE you snap those great dog photos.

Why don’t you allow photos of dogs with sticks for Dogs at Play category?
We believe in happy and healthy dogs.  Dogs playing or chewing on sticks may cause serious injury so we only want to see dogs playing with dog toys that are considered safe by vets and Kennel Club Accreditation Scheme dog trainers and instructors.

What is excessive Photoshopping?
Over-cropping, over-colourisation, over-saturation, over-colour correcting (taking away from the true nature of the dog and the scenery), changing the scenery, changing the dog.  Best practice is to keep your image true to nature and only add small minor corrections such as mild contrast, mild saturation, and mild highlights. Please avoid over-Photoshopping your dog images.
